David Hacin is an architect + author living and working in Boston.
Architects speak an academic, almost mystical language that most people struggle to understand…
By contrast, David comes to his writing through a successful career in client-centered design, a lifetime of peripatetic travel experiences, and a love for the clarity and colorful punch of vintage comic books. As an architect and urbanist active in the public realm, and the Founder and Creative Director of the interdisciplinary, Boston-based architecture and design firm Hacin, David has long enjoyed the process of narrative storytelling through the execution of his broad portfolio of award-winning buildings and spaces.
Now he’s trying something new: Telling more personal, nuanced stories about ‘place’ in his own words - and in his own way.
About
The only child of a Swiss architect and an American foreign policy expert, David Hacin was born in Geneva, Switzerland and grew up living on both sides of the Atlantic. Shuttling between divorced parents and their new families from a very early age, American David and European Janny has always enjoyed a nuanced, ‘split screen’ perspective on the worlds around him.
